When you drink the tea, the first thing that you will notice is its taste. You may initially find the taste to be unusual, but after a couple of days, you will become accustomed to it.

If this is not the case, please contact me.

Preparation

  1. Soak the herbs in approx. ½ litre of water for 60 minutes
  2. Simmer for ten minutes *
  3. Pass the tea through a fine sieve and pour the liquid (decoction) into a large (approx. 1 litre) clean bottle
  4. Put the herbs back into the pot and add a further ½ litre of fresh water. Simmer for a further 20 minutes. If the prescription includes herbs, which have to be cooked for a short period of time only, add them at the end.
  5. Pass the tea through a sieve and pour the liquid into the bottle. The bottle should now contain approx. 750ml of decoction
  6. Store the decoction in a refrigerator.

Daily intake

  1. Mix 200ml or 1/5 of the decoction with approximately 500 - 800 ml of hot water and drink this warm and with small sips throughout the day. Please do not drink the sediment at the bottom. Allow the sediment to settle at the bottom and only drink the clear liquid (decoction).
  2. If necessary, the tea may be sweetened with Stevia (Sweetleaf) or rice malt.

Stop drinking the tea if you catch a cold (unless the tea had been prescribed for this!) or in the very unlikely event of an upset stomach!

* if the prescription includes herbs to be cooked for a short period of time only, these herbs should be added to the second mixture only (see step 4)
